What is GroupOut?
A real-time social app for singles at partner venues. Go Live, see who’s here tonight, ping, chat briefly, then meet in person. Same room. Same night.
Is this a dating app?
No. We don’t algorithmically match, rank, or score you by looks or behavior. GroupOut helps you say hello to people who are already out — then the app gets out of the way.
Who can use it?
Users 21 and older in participating U.S. markets. We’re launching in Knoxville first. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 21.
How does location work?
Location is used to find nearby partner venues, confirm Go Live, and detect that you’ve arrived. While you are Live, we may use background location only to notice when you leave — then we automatically Go Dark. We don’t track you continuously when you’re not Live.
Do other people see my GPS?
No. Other users never see your coordinates or a personal map pin. They only see that you’re Live at a venue you chose — after you arrive. Venue-level presence, not a live tracker.
Are photos gone by morning?
Yes. Session photos are for tonight only: kept up to 8 hours from capture, cleared by 4:00 a.m. local time if still held, or sooner if you retake them or your session ends. They’re in-app camera shots for the room — not a permanent profile gallery.
Are chats gone by morning too?
Yes. Chats are ephemeral on purpose. Unfinished threads clear on the nightly cycle. After you both confirm you met IRL, chat stays 24 hours, then is removed for both of you. GroupOut isn’t a message archive.
How long do you keep my data?
Account & profile stay while your account is active. Photos are tonight-only (see above). Chats clear nightly, or 24 hours after mutual IRL. Reports and safety records may be kept as needed for investigations and the law. Full detail: Privacy Policy.
How do I stay in control?
You choose the venue. You Go Live — or you don’t. You can Go Dark anytime. Block and Report live on profiles. Turn off location or notifications in your phone settings (some features need them to work).
How do I report someone?
If you feel threatened by anyone, flag a bartender or staff member immediately.
Then use Block or Report on their profile in the app. You can also email support@groupout.app. For urgent safety issues at a partner venue, put Urgent in the subject.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile → Edit profile → Delete account. Confirm twice. That permanently removes your profile, photos, chats, and pings.
If you can’t open the app, email support@groupout.app from the address on your account, subject Account Deletion. Privacy requests: subject Privacy Request.
